Bare elements

The photographic series captures raw, performative acts within the elements, questioning what remains hidden beneath the surface of perception.

Artist Statement

I seek to draw attention inward – toward that which is hidden, our most private and sacred space. My body may be exposed, judged, admired, or rejected; it may be seen as beautiful or not. Still, I remain separate from it. My body is a vehicle, but not my essence. We are far more than our outer beauty or the fragile architecture of flesh. What lies beneath must be preserved, protected, and explored. It is in this exploration that clarity may arise, guiding us deeper into the eternal questions: Who are we? What is our true expression in life?

My intention is to reveal the beauty of pure nature – and to present us as human beings in the way we first arrive in this world: as pure awareness, clothed only in the strength of our humanity. In this work I expose myself – vulnerable, radically open, and therefore also provocative.

The body is my shell. It never fully expresses what moves within me – whether vulnerability, strength, or something entirely beyond words. It is always misinterpreted, no matter how I present myself. The viewer may place me in a box, but what lives inside remains hidden. The question lingers: Who am I really? No one else can ever know the full story of my life – only I do. What others perceive is partial, fleeting, never whole. Even for myself, the discovery is incomplete. At times I fall into the illusion that I know, yet I am confronted with the question again: in what I express, have I truly recognized myself?
